Use the App lawfully and at your own discretion. The App is provided “as is”: always verify the content of a scanned code before you open a link, connect to a network, or act on it. Ads and third-party services help keep the App free. This summary is for convenience only — the full Terms below govern.
01 Acceptance of these Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you confirm that you can form a binding contract and that you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
02 License to use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use. Your use of the App distributed through Google Play is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
03 Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to attempt to:
- Use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose, including generating or distributing codes that link to malicious, deceptive, or illegal content.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Copy, modify, rent, lease, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works of the App.
- Interfere with or disrupt the App, or circumvent any security or technical limitation.
- Remove or obscure any proprietary notices, or misuse our trademarks or branding.
04 Your content
The App lets you create codes and save a business-card profile and history. This content is created and stored on your device; you own it and are solely responsible for it. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to encode and share any information (including other people’s contact details) and that doing so complies with applicable law. We do not claim ownership of your content and, as described in the Privacy Policy, we do not upload it to our servers.
05 Advertising
The App is offered free of charge and may display advertisements, including through Google AdMob. Advertisements and any offers, products, or services they promote are the responsibility of the relevant advertisers, not us. Your interactions with advertisers, and the collection and use of data for advertising, are described in our Privacy Policy.
06 Third-party content & networks
Codes you scan may contain links, Wi-Fi credentials, contact details, payment information, or other data controlled by third parties. When you choose to open a link, join a network, place a call, send a message, or take a similar action, you interact with a third party that we do not control and are not responsible for. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the safety, accuracy, or legality of any scanned content. Exercise caution and verify content before acting on it, especially from codes you do not trust.
07 Intellectual property
The App, including its software, design, text, graphics, and the “QRCode Scanner” name and logo, is owned by Wewin and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the license granted in section 2, no rights are transferred to you. Certain components are provided by third parties (for example, Google ML Kit and the ZXing library) under their own licenses.
08 Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that scanning or decoding will be complete or accurate, or that generated codes will be readable by every device or scanner. You use the App and rely on its output at your own risk. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
09 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wewin and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the App — including any harm resulting from acting on scanned content — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the App is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the App (if any) or SGD 20. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Wewin from any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the App, your content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
11 Termination
These Terms apply while you use the App. You may stop using and uninstall the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your license if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the App. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 7–10) will survive.
12 Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of Singapore will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.
13 Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
